Design Process

  1. Prep

  2. Prototype

  3. Loop

  4. Proof

  5. Maintenance

Prep stage

  • Interview

During the interview we receive the site requirements and a rough outline of content from the client.

  • Quote

The features requested by the client are quoted.

  • Contract

The contract is signed and initial payment received.

  • Collect resources

The client's logo and typeface, brochures and literature, design suggestions and examples, site content and domain registration information are collected from the client.

Prototype stage

  • Information architecture

Information about the site's target audience and goals collected during the interviews is assembled into an information architecture outline.

  • Site map

A sitemap is made with content and features mapped to specific pages.

  • First Prototype

Using the design suggestions collected during the interview the sitemap is made into a rough prototype that has the features requested.

Loop stage

  • Design revision

Using the prototype as a starting point, the client identifies those components of the design which need to be changed and they are corrected.

  • Content revision

Using the content collected during the collect resources phase, the client is allowed a certain amount of major and minor revision after seeing it live in the prototype.

  • Feature revision

Aspects of how the requested features have been implemented are able to be tweaked and revised.

Proof stage

  • Final prototype

The client thoroughly reviews the final prototype to catch any lingering problems and clears the site for launch.

  • Site Launch

Once all bugs have been fixed and all tweaks completed, final payment is received and the site is moved over to the live server.

  • Post-launch review

Any errors are problems discovered after launch are identified and fixed.

  • Client training

The client is given two hours of training time to learn to update and operate their site via its CMS.

Maintenance stage

If the client wishes, the updates and operation of the site can be done via Datagroup for hourly maintenance rates.
